Vietnam songs

The song I listened to was Vietnam by Jimmy Cliff, he sang the song because he wanted the war to stop because the families were losing their men and he sang it because he wanted to support the people fighting in the war.

Making salts 2

Aim

Our aim is to make salt and water from copper oxide with an acid

Equipment

Copper oxide powder, dilute sulfuric acid, 50ml measuring cylinder, two 100ml beakers, bunsen burner, tripod, gauze mat, funnel, filter paper, thermometer, spatula, evaporating basin, stirring rod.

Method

1 Add at least 20ml of sulfuric acid to a 100ml beaker, then heat it on the heat plate, until it reaches 70C, then turn your beaker off
2 Then use a spatula to add pea-sized portions of copper oxide to the beaker, stir for 30-40 seconds
3 Repeat the previous step until no more will dissolve, wait for the beaker to cool down.
4 Fold the filter paper and place it into the funnel, place the filter funnel tunnel into the second beaker.
5 Make sure the beaker is cool enough to place on top, and the contents should be hot.
6 Gently swirl the contents of the beaker to mix. then pour the paper filter into the funnel.
7 Rinse the beaker, then place it back on top of the tripod filled with 50-60ml of water.

10 Leave the evaporating basin to cool. once it has cooled down, move the basin to a warm place, and observe it for the next couple of days.

My passion <:>

My passion of gaming will be a good stress reliever and a time consumer, I have been gaming for a very long time, most of my life in fact, I like games like Dead by Daylight and the Forza franchise. Gaming for most of my life has been a stress reliever, back when I lived in Linwood I used to be very poor, so having a computer was a blessing.

Creative Writing: The Narrative

Show don't tell

The buildings were tall.
The buildings loomed over me.

Sarah was really upset.
You could hear Sarah crying.

She was so happy to see him.
She was all over him.

The lake was beautiful.
The lake shimmered at every angle.

The heat from the house was immense, sirens screaming around the fire
Splashes from the stream of water could be heard from my house
Footsteps storming to my room, from walking to running, closer and closer suddenly a bang on the door.

Settings Activity 1

The musky air filled the bunkroom, drenched in fear and sweet, the trenches could be considered the worst place in the world, the resting grounds for many comrades and enemies. This is not a warzone it is a death pit.

My grandfather brought me to his barn, he says he's been keeping something for me, although I've never really been close to him, but since he is passing in 4 months (2014) I decided to come look after him. The barn door creaked open and burst into dust.

Completely still, surrounded by white, and stuck in winter, the cold seeps in through the cracks of the car. Not knowing how long I have left, I decided to leave and go find help, or at least die outside of my car.

Settings Activity 2

Shoulders bump and bang it's like navigating through an ants colony, just to get to work and back. Day's like these make me want to buy a car and finally get my license but for now, I have to take the subway. Even on the train I feel surrounded, there isn't even enough room for one more person. Just imagine an entire train with nowhere to even sit let alone stand.

Prespectives on Beatles in NZ

Hello, this is my blog post on perspectives on The Beatles tour in NZ, perspective is how someone thinks about something because of what side they are on.

So some people were for the tour and a lot of people were against it for religious and traditional reasons, some thought that they were trying to lead youth to do sin and wrong the world, but all they wanted to do was meet their favorite band and listen to music.

For the Tour
People wanting the tour are fans or family members of the fans that got dragged along, people looking to sell their 'products' either legal or illegal.

Against the Tour
Because they said that they were more popular than Jesus Christ, and having inappropriate lyrics about things Christians are against. They thought that they were gonna make the fans sin.

The significance of The Beatles to other bands is immense, a lot of bands nowadays take inspiration from The Beatles.
Examples

Michael Jackson - Come Together

Boys II Men - Yesterday

Jay Z - 99 Problems

The Beatles

Hello, this my blog post for social studies, I listened to the song HELP!

The song HELP! was made for Lennon to express his stress from quickly rising to fame, 1960's rock is very different from the newer rock and it's very different from the music 20 years ago. Music from the 1940s is very gentleman-like and slow.

Siginificance of WW1

Hello, this is my blog post on the importance of WW1 and The Last Post.

The Last Post is played in Belgium every evening at 8 pm since 1928, the song is important to NZ because it's an expression of Belgium's gratitude for the contribution that Kiwi's servicemen and women made to its defense during WW1.

Most believe that the last post is a song about honoring those we have lost in the war, although the Last Post has come to carry such mournful weight and meaning, it was not originally used in a memorial context. In fact, the Last Post was just a song when it was first made. First published and played in the 1790s.

Creative Writing Reflection

Hello, in this blog post I will be writing a reflection on my creative writing, I haven't really learnt anything new through doing the matrix, but I have definitely improved my writing skills.

The most difficult tasks I had to do were the haiku's and metaphors since it took a considerably long time to think of ideas that I could write down. Good grammar, creative ideas and a writing structure can definitely improve your creative writing, it just takes time to spell check and get everything right. I enjoyed writing about the language features since it wasn't very difficult and I already knew what to do, sensory language was basically the same, really easy because I knew what to do.

I'm hoping for more difficult work next time, because the matrix was really easy since there wasn't anything on it that I didn't know or couldn't easily search up and understand.
